Location: The family-run hotel Amnissos Residence, managed with great care, is located in the village of Pigianos Kampos, approximately 150 m from the sand/shingle beach (natural beach; water shoes recommended; located at the "Paraplous" tavern; a road must be crossed; food and drinks are available there for a fee). A complimentary shuttle to the beach is offered upon request (please contact reception for this). Some shopping and entertainment options can be found in the immediate vicinity. The port city of Rethymnon, with its beautiful old town and magnificent avenues, is only about 8 km away; a bus stop is located directly in front of the hotel. Heraklion Airport is approximately 75 km away.
Facilities: Built in a village-like style, this Schauinsland-Reisen Original hotel was renovated in many areas for summer 2023. It features 87 rooms spread across a main building and several bungalow buildings, offering a 24-hour reception, lobby, luggage storage, Wi-Fi (included throughout the resort), and the "Olive Tree" buffet restaurant. A highlight is the new rooftop bar "Open Sky", built in 2023, which invites guests to enjoy a cocktail in the evening with a beautiful view. The hotel's well-maintained outdoor area features a swimming pool with an integrated children's pool and a renovated sun terrace, inviting guests to relax with gazebos, poufs, and comfortable sun loungers. The tropical "Tropical" shisha bar by the main pool also provides refreshments (shisha for a fee). Sun loungers and umbrellas are included at the pool and the beach (at the "Paraplous" tavern; the tavern is for a fee). Beach towels are available for a deposit. Parking at the hotel is included, subject to availability. Valid for Summer 2027: From summer 2027, the newly built "Diamond Spirit" area will offer additional amenities. A successful combination of modern and traditional Cretan elements, warm colors, olive trees, sand underfoot, and fragrant herb beds ensure a holiday atmosphere. A total of 147 rooms will then be available. All guests will be warmly welcomed in the expanded lobby area with a 24-hour reception. The new, modern "Olive Tree" restaurant offers ample space, live cooking stations, and varied buffets with Cretan and Greek dishes, as well as international influences. The "Theros" bar, connected to the restaurant, provides refreshments by the pool. The former restaurant is now available as the "Meli&Thymari" à-la-carte restaurant, offering authentic Cretan dishes. In the new outdoor area, a pool stretches around the new building, inviting guests to swim laps (the pool has no interruptions; one can swim through under the bridges; the pool can be used by all room types). All ground-floor rooms offer a terrace with private sun loungers and direct pool access. For rooms on the 1st floor, comfortable sun loungers and Bali beds are available around the pool. Above the new buffet restaurant, the "Ammos&Nostos" lounge deck awaits guests looking for peace and quiet with a magnificent view and comfortable furniture. Yoga classes are also offered in the adjoining "VistaFit" outdoor fitness area with state-of-the-art equipment. A central meeting point between the two hotel parts is provided by the new, typical Cretan "Rodaria" kafenion—a meeting place to enjoy Greek coffee, raki, and light meze dishes during pleasant conversations. A special highlight is the new "Elaia" area—a place to feel at ease under shade-giving olive trees, with loungers for relaxing, hammocks for dreaming, and six whirlpools. A newly built paddle court also provides sporting variety.

Bungalow Deluxe: These rooms were newly built in winter 2021/2022 and offer more modern furnishings (2BD).
Bungalow Whirlpool: These rooms have the same equipment as the double rooms, are renovated, and are located on the upper or lower floor of the bungalow buildings with a whirlpool on the terrace (2CW). Also available for single occupancy (C1Q). The whirlpool is not supervised by a lifeguard. We ask for prudent behavior and special attention when using this area. They are equipped with a 52" Smart TV, individually adjustable air conditioning, safe, Wi-Fi, Nespresso coffee machine (daily restocking), tea maker (daily restocking), mini-fridge (filled daily with one large or two small bottles of water), hairdryer, and bathroom amenities. Bridges connect the accommodations to the opposite side, where olive trees and sand harmonize the ambiance. With the same equipment as the Double Room Pool View, these are additionally equipped with bathrobes. Once per stay (min. 6 nights), guests can enjoy a floating breakfast in the lagoon pool (on request at least 2 days in advance at reception).
